NJSN is the federally designated organ procurement organization for New Jersey. Posen Architects was retained for the programming, site selection and design of a new 50,000 sf. facility that includes executive, administrative, conference, training, and staff areas as well as a clinical testing laboratory. The large footprint building, occupied 24/7, was designed to support the collaborative nature of NJSN’s core work. With mostly glass walls, and a wide open floor plan, the constant movement in the space serves to energize and refresh the staff. In the lab, a full wall of glass provides exterior views as well as transparency to visitors and management. Being “green” was important to the staff, and best practices for sustainability were incorporated into the design.
